Villanueva de la Serena, SPAIN

Villanueva de la Serena is a town in Extremadura, on the Southwest of Spain. Here is where the Spanish omelette was first made. In June, almost every pub in the city prepares potato omelettes in the park, next to the town square. Children can participate cooking their own omelette. The activity which I am crazy about is making a huge omelette in the square, it is very rewarding watching all people doing an omelette of several meters long! Jose Manuel Calderon was born here. He was one of the fourth Spanish players in the NBA. There is a basketball court named after him close to my high school, which is Puerta de la Serena. Now you know a bit more about Villanueva, and I encourage you to come visit it, since it’s the best thing since sliced bread!
